My baby's birthday! FWF

When you all read this I will be in the hospital more than likely getting to know my new daughter (or son). I can't believe how fast this day came. I have a few cards I made in the past week for the sketch challenges at 2 Sketches 4 You. They are pretty simple, but I loved the layout and love the papers and stamps I used. I hope you are having a great Friday! I am looking forward to lots of family time in the next few weeks and months and hopefully I will have some time to craft too. If not, I 'll be lurking and watching what all of you do. Go to the Unity blog to see more wonderful creations! Take care and have a great weekend!

2sketches4you Card #3

Here is my third, and final, card for Kazan's sketch #50 at 2sketches4you

I love the contrast between the bright green Bazzill cardstock and the black. I love bright green, it makes me happy :) The stamp again is from Unity.

I spent my day with some great friends who I haven't seen in a long time and usually scrap with once a month. I figured this might be my last chance to scrap with them for awhile. I have been doing most of my scrapbooking and cardmaking at home. Most of my supplies are homeless and in boxes right now as well due to the move in bedrooms and my scrapbook room becoming my son's bedroom. Hopefully I will get the basement scraproom ready to go in the next few months while I am home. Am I crazy to think I might have a little time to do that? Maybe :) I'm off to order a carseat for our new little one. I hope she likes bright colors as much as I do :) I hope that everyone is having a great night and has a great Sunday!

Sketch take 2 ~ 2sketches4you #50

Here is my second take on the sketch. I have really been using a lot of red lately, which is not like me. I love this image from Unity and the saying that goes with it. I used gold and red rick rack and braided it, red, black and white cardstock and gold stickles. A simple card for the most part, but I like how it turned out. I also like the longer card. Most of mine are usually standard size with a few larger square ones thrown in here and there.

2Sketches4You Kazan's Sketch # 50 and Design Team Entry

Here is my first take on Kazan's Sketch #50 from 2Sketches4You. They are holding a Design Team call right now and all one has to do is enter a card into the sketch for this week and next week. I may be crazy to be trying this now, but it sounds like great fun and I love the sketches on this site! Hopefully I have what it takes!

For this card, I used Kraft paper, Pink cardstock, an patterned paper from DCWV. I also used Colorbox ink and red rick rack. I love this saying - stamp is from Unity.

You Rocked It, Again :) FWF Friday

Here it is Friday the 16th, and my family will change forever in one week and a few hours. I'm so excited to meet this little girl (or boy) and I'm so excited for my son to finally have a sibling!! Now, I just need to talk myself through each working day I have left. I can do this!!

Above is a card I made earlier this week. I posted it earlier for some challenges an want all of you to see it. I used a sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches. It was so fun to make, I love the colors and loved sending it to a friend who just passed the Wisconsin Bar Exam. He thought it was pretty cool too. I actually made 8 of this card and will be sending 6 of them off to a swap today. Can't wait to see what I get back. One great thing is surprises in the mail. To see more great projects go to the Unity blog. I get such inspiration from everyone who shares! Also, someone has the blinkie - comment there and you could win some random Unity stamps! Thanks and have a GREAT weekend!!

You Rocked It!

What a gorgeous day it was today here in southern Wisconsin. It's about time. I think that Spring may have finally arrived. Yippee!! My favorite time of year! We spent time outside - my hubby did some yardwork, my son played with the neighborhood kids, and I made a lunch to eat on the deck. What a great Sunday. I also spent some time inside cleaning and making a couple of cards!

Here is my card for Inspirational Card Sketches #61. The sketch I used follows.

It is also for the Simon Says Challenge to make a card for a child!

I used Kraft paper and Bazzill cardstock, stamps from two Unity kits of the month, and some patterned paper that I believe is Cosmo Cricket. I also used some gold stickles and gold rick rack. This card has so many possible uses from graduation, to passing a test, to getting a drivers license or performing well at a concert or in a play.

Have a great week everyone!

Sweet Little Baby

I have been making so many baby cards lately. I hope some other people I know start having babies soon, because I won't be giving these cards to myself :) Baby on the brain (11 more days), but what a perfect thing that several card challenges are for baby cards lately. I'm having so much fun.

This card was made for the Get Sketchy challenge #33 using the sketch that follows and for Caardvarks challenge of making a baby card.

I used Bazzill cardstock, DCWV patterned paper from a baby boy matstack I have, and the Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set from Papertrey Ink. I also used some pastel embossing powder I bought recently. Love that stuff!! Such soft, pretty colors!

FWF and Card Patterns #60

(OOPS - I must really want it to be 2 weeks from now. I titled my post with Card Patterns #60 and it's only #58. Sorry!!!)

Happy Friday!! Here are a couple of cards I made last week during Spring Break. One of them I made for the Spring/Easter ippity challenge and the other was made using Card Patterns Sketch #58. I love the Moon Beam and Heart Strings kit and used that one as well as Unity's Little Me for the peanut and pea images :) I really enjoyed making this card.

The Spring/Easter Card used another ippity stamp from the Just Wanted to Say kit. I also used some new pastel embossing powder I got at Archiver's.

Hippity Hop Monday and ICSketches #60

It's Monday and Spring Break is over. I only have 14 more teaching days (18 more days) left though until my little one arrives. SO much to do, but so much excitement too! Must have baby on the brain as 2 of the 3 cards I made this week were baby cards. I love the Moon Beam and Heartstrings ippity kit by Unity! It must be my favorite. Again, I wonder if that is because of where I am in my life? I used the ICSketches sketch #60 to help me with my design on this card!

It was fun to actually do some crafting this week! Happy Monday and Have a GREAT week! See more cards in the Hippity Hop here.
