It's Friday, Friday, Friday, FWF Day!

Hello from Wisconsin, everyone! What a beautiful day today was. A 48 degree, sun shining, snow melting day. It's starting to look and feel like Spring. Yay! I love Spring!! I have a quick card to show to you. It is a thank you card for my co workers. We have a fund at school called the Sunshine Fund. When someone is sick, has a death in the family, has a baby or gets married, they receive a gift from the staff of our high school. I recently had surgery and was given a gift certificate. Here is my card:

I used Dutch Mustard Soup and Bee Happy Hexagons. Both sets are on sale at Unity this weekend! Check the Unity blog to see great Friday creations by great ladies! Have a great weekend!!

FWF - Be Original! Be You!

Hi everyone! I was looking through Unity's sale items and notice this set: Comfy Cozy I knew I had it, and I knew I had never used it. I tried to make the chair a fun, original color/pattern and thought the sentiment from this kit went perfectly with it.

I love a little.....o.k....... A LOT of color in my living spaces. When I had recently moved into my new home and had just painted my living room a terra cotta color, a former neighbor came by to see our new place. When walking through, he asked if I was going to paint the living room. I replied.... I....just....did... His reply was that he wouldn't have painted it that color :) Oh well, I guess some colors aren't for everyone :)

Unity {inspiration} and pinspiration

A quick post tonight that will also be shared on Friday this week for FWF. Going back to school in the morning after a two day cold spell. It was too cold here in southern Wisconsin for us to have kids in school. Colder that I remember it being in a long, long time. What is cold? you ask....hmmm..... - 20 degrees real temp on Monday with -50 windchill and today was -13 with -30 windchill. That Is Cold. So with the time I had at home....I was able to crank out a couple of cards. Had been so busy over Christmas Break with celebrations and family, that I didn't have time to do much crafting. I thought about it quite a few times....but didn't get anything done. Christmas cards didn't get sent out this year, so I am sending out New Years cards instead. I looked through many examples and chose two I really liked from Pinterest. They are very similar and I based my card off of theirs. I'm {inspired} by Unity

I love Unity stamps and I'm sure you do, too if you are visiting me for Friends with Flair!!!! I also love the challenge they have each month. As I mentioned last Friday, I spent a weekend with some scrappin' buddies recently and got 20 pages done. Some of these were 1 page layouts and others were 2 page layouts. One of the pages in this 2 page layout is based off of Unity's layout sketch this month and the color palette. I don't often play the layout sketch challenge, so I am glad I got the chance! I used one of Joslyn Nielson's wit & wisdom stamps on my tag. I think I might own all of the wit & wisdom stamps....they are so cool!!! This one is called Santas, stockings, candy canes, etc. It fit perfectly with my Brunch With Santa title. My daughter was only 1 1/2 here and she was not keen on sitting on Santa's lap. She seems interested this year, though, as she has mentioned it several times. We will see.......

It's Unity Friday

Hi everyone! Last weekend I was able to spend some time with my scrappin' buddies and got 20 pages done! I think that is more than I have done in the past 3 years since my little girl was born. I'll have to share some of the pages later. With some of the extra scraps of paper, I made a few cards to share with you tonight/this weekend. They are both sympathy cards and use the same Unity sentiment. "Thinking of you....In your time of need."
