GIU Blog Hop

Welcome to the May/June GIU Blog Hop. Follow the blogs and comment on all of them and you could win some Unity Stamps.

For my project, I made two versions of the same one layer card. On one, I stamped the card with different colors and the other I used colored pencils to color the coffee cups different colors.

These two stamps came from the February 2017 Kit of the Month Unexpected Places. I love the coffee cups and that sentiment........so true!

Do you love coffee? What is your favorite? I love Peet's Coffee Major Dickason's Blend, Yum!! Well, I'm off to make myself a cup.

Here is the list in case you get lost along the way:

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop. Next up is Iona: https://craftynomad.blogspot.com/

Growing in Unity Day 5

Happy June!  For my last GIU post, I took a card that I made a few years ago

 (original)

and created two new cards based on it.

 (new)

I love, love, love the first one. The two I made for this post turned out well, too. I learned through card making and scrapbooking, that I much prefer to used textured cardstock….and not all textured cardstock is created equal :)  What is your favorite cardstock to use?

I also have learned that simple cards work best for me. Cardstock, stamp, ink, and washi is all I needed for these. The stamps I used are from All Worth It by Melody Ross and another {wit & wisdom} stamp. Thanks for stopping by this week and thank you for all of your wonderful comments. It's been fun! Make sure to comment today, too, for your chance to win Unity stamps!

Growing in Unity Day 4

It's hard to believe Day 4 is here already. The week is going so fast. Today is the last day for the seniors. They graduate on Sunday and only have to come to school Friday for graduation practice and to visit the elementary schools that they attended if they choose. For the past few years, I have made a special treat for them.

We have a celebration of their 5 years in Spanish. This year I used a Unity stamp to create their cards. They were very simple using white or red card stock and matting on the opposite. Red and white are our school colors.  I distressed the sides of each as well. The stamp I used was Diploma Cap and Gown {wit & wisdom}

Unity has several stamps like this for holidays, seasons, etc. Just search the site for {wit & wisdom}. Don't forget to comment for your chance to win!  Thanks for stopping by!

Growing in Unity Day 3

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! I am really excited about today's project as it was created for my daughter. She loves to color and draw, so I made a little book for her with stamps to color and inspirational quotes. On the pages with quotes, she can draw pictures or write notes. I think she will like it and I can't wait to give it to her.

The book started out plain like this:

Then I added some Washi and some patterned paper to the front and stamped the inside pages. Here are some of them:

The outside of the book looks like this:

I used many stamps in this project. I'm not sure that the one I used on the cover is available anymore. Sorry. It is called Dream Big. I also used For all Your Help Birdies, Smile in your Heart, Mushy Little Guy, Sweet Elle, a past KOM from 1/14 called Be your OWN kind of Beautiful Thanks for stopping by! Growing in Unity Day 1

Hi everyone! I am Michelle and I am your {Growing in Unity} Girl this week. I am excited to show you my projects. I haven't been crafting in quite some time, so am happy to be crafting and blogging again. It's been a LOOOOONG time. I have loved Unity for 8 1/2 years and have more stamps and kits than I should probably admit. It was so fun to choose the stamps I would feature this week. The first stamp set I used is Elephant Behind. I have created two cards with this cute little elephant. One of the secretaries at the school where I work is retiring at the end of the school year and I thought that ~the end is near~ would be perfect for her. We have school until June 7th. When do the schools around you get out? I think we are late compared to many.

One of the things that I like to do, is create my own patterned paper with shaving cream, food coloring, and photo paper. You can see that both of my cards feature this. I have a Facebook Live Tutorial from last summer if you'd like to see how it is done. You can see it here.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day and please remember why today is Memorial Day. I am thankful for all of those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom and am thankful for their families. I'll be back tomorrow with another project. Be sure to comment all week for your chance to win some Unity stamps. Unity is also having a Memorial Day sale until Tuesday at midnight CST. Be sure to check it out.
