Hi everyone! I am Michelle and I am your {Growing in Unity} Girl this week. I am excited to show you my projects. I haven't been crafting in quite some time, so am happy to be crafting and blogging again. It's been a LOOOOONG time. I have loved Unity for 8 1/2 years and have more stamps and kits than I should probably admit. It was so fun to choose the stamps I would feature this week. The first stamp set I used is Elephant Behind. I have created two cards with this cute little elephant. One of the secretaries at the school where I work is retiring at the end of the school year and I thought that ~the end is near~ would be perfect for her. We have school until June 7th. When do the schools around you get out? I think we are late compared to many.
One of the things that I like to do, is create my own patterned paper with shaving cream, food coloring, and photo paper. You can see that both of my cards feature this. I have a Facebook Live Tutorial from last summer if you'd like to see how it is done. You can see it here.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day and please remember why today is Memorial Day. I am thankful for all of those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom and am thankful for their families. I'll be back tomorrow with another project. Be sure to comment all week for your chance to win some Unity stamps. Unity is also having a Memorial Day sale until Tuesday at midnight CST. Be sure to check it out.

ReplyDeleteAnother Unity stamp I hadn't seen. Onto the wish list it goes! The shaving cream technique would be fun for my ATC swap. I could use one 8.5 x 11 sheet and do the background for all ten at once. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteVery cute and colorful. I have even purchased a can of shaving cream from the dollar store, but haven't tried this technique yet. Your cards may inspire me to dig it out and give it a go.

ReplyDeleteHi Patricia. I use 4×6 photo paper, shaving cream, and food coloring. Put shaving cream on a plate, put drops of food coloring in it and swirl it around. Then place your photo paper shiny side down into the shaving cream and pat it down a bit. When ready lift and wipe off. I scrape off the shaving cream gently with an old gift card and finish with paper towel. Let dry and use as you wish :)
