Some of my favorite cards

Good evening! I was looking through some of the cards I have made over the past year since I started blogging. I just looked back and my first post here was August 17th of last year. I hadn't even found out about little Amelia yet and she is now 4 months old. WOW! Back to the cards, there were quite a few I REALLY like and had a hard tme choosing which were my 3 favorites/best out of the bunch. I'd like to share them here again. My focus, shortly after I started blogging, was on Unity stamp and still is, but some of my favorites use Hero Arts and other stamps too. They are in no particular order and have various subjects. Enjoy!

Which is your favorite?

have yourself a merry little Christmas....

I had such great ideas after looking at the Get Sketchy sketch for those four little doodads on the card. When I actually sat down to make my card, I realized all of my great ideas used images that were too big to put in the space I had. Oh well. I do like what I ended up with, but not as much as all of the great designs in my head. I will have to do a canvas piece or wall hanging with some of THOSE ideas. I'll share them with you if they ever happen :) I'm back to school soon and will have even less time to scrap and make cards. Such is life. For this card I used Unity's Merry, Merry, Merry kit. You Rocked It Card ~ Unity Addict's Challenge

Have you ever had great ideas run through your head - lots of them, but have a hard time getting them accomplished? Or have a hard time getting the ideas from your head into a tangible item? I have so many ideas for the diaper fold card, now that I have seen it. I just wish I had enough time to get them all made :) This is the card I made for the Unity Addict's Challenge.

I love the "You Rocked It" sentiment from Unity's MARCH10 kit of the month {Rockin' it Unity Style}. I knew, when I thought about this, that I also had sme rockin' stamps from various kits of the month, a guitar (OCT09 {...wherever you go}), a jukebox (MARCH10 {Rockin' it Unity Style}), and a boombox (DEC09 Delightful Moments) Do kids nowadays even know what a boombox is? The stars are cut out from the You're a Star single from Unity.

FWF and EtsyInspiredChallenge #100

Oh my! This was a good week! My son and I went to a Wednesday morning movie at a local theater for $1 each. We saw How to Train Your Dragon and I loved loved loved it!!! It has replaced The Lion King as my favorite animated movie and The Lion King held that spot for many years! I had a great time talking to many great ladies at SCS in the Unity forum yesterday (JenMarie ~ I really want that frappe maker!!! :) ) and all I can say is What great ippity releases from Unity Stamp Co. You can see them here. I want them all!!!! I can think of so many things to do with them! I made 5 cards this week as well. Other great things that happened include a great curriculum meeting with my fabulous Spanish teacher colleague and lots & lots of baby giggles, smiles, and snuggles!

I took part in the ippity challenges and here is a link to my creations. This is one of those cards.

I also made this for Etsy Inspired Challenge #100. This is the first time I have participated in this challenge and had fun doing so! I used Cathy Walters' Etsy shop to inspire me. I chose two pendants to base my cards off of. This heart card was inspired by this pendant called sweet heart pendant.

You can find it here

My second card

was made from this pendant.

FWF ~ A wedding card

I haven't been to a wedding in a long time. This year I have two to go to in the next few months. I made a card for Saturday's wedding using July's kit of the month. I love these stamps with the words behind them and can't wait to use the others on more cards and some layouts.

My husband and I are off for a romantic getaway with a private pool tonight, then to the wedding on Saturday, and back home on Sunday. I haven't been away from my baby girl this long yet (She's 3 months today - WOW that went fast!!) and haven't been away from my little boy for this long in a loooong time. It will be hard, but we will have fun, too :) Bring on the relaxation. Have a great Friday and a GREAT weekend. See the links to more great Unity projects here

FWF - A bookmark and a card

Happy Hip Hop Friday! We are on our way to my son's birthday camping trip. Actually it's a daddy/son trip, but they invited me along. I have so much to get ready! This will be the first time that I will camp in a tent without electricty. I grew up camping in a pop up and we always had electricity. It should be interesting. This week i made a bookmark for my husband. He loves sock monkeys :) As I was making this my son wanted to make a card for his dad and one for me. He used the scraps I had on the table and one happened to be stamped with ippity :) Have a great weekend!!

Email Jimmi to let her kow you have won the 25 random stamps!! Congrats!!

Hello everyone. Today my baby is 8 weeks old ~ but she won't be 2 months old for another 5 days. Weird how that works, isn't it? We are taking her in for her vaccinations today. I hope I don't cry!!! Time has definitely flown by since the end of April. I haven't had a lot of time to craft, but try to do some things each week. I have a few things to share with you today.

First, I made a Father's Day card for my brother. He has a 2 year old daughter and she is growing so fast, learning so much, saying new words every day. I wanted to remind him that all these little things are actually big things. I used the birds from the kit Savor the Journey (January '10) and the sentiment from {go ahead wish}(September '09).

Second, I made a simple card for a friend that just says hi with a cute little caterpillar crawling along. I did some make and take cards the other day at our LSS and was reminded of this technique to punch out a shape and put a message behind it. I love this effect. The caterpillar and the sentiment are from the kit Little Buggers.

My third project is a sticky note holder for my desk. I plan to make a few more of these and give one to each of the teachers in my department at school as a welcome back to school gift in the fall. I figure I have several months to get 5 more made. There are two inserts which can be used and one is stored behind the other in the 4 X 6 plactic frame. I used Jillibean Soup papers (White Bean - pepper to taste and Sliced Bacon ~ what interesting names!). The sentiment "enjoy your day" on the sticky notes came from the May '09 kit another sweet day. The other sentiments are from the ippity set Life's Little Moments and {...wherever you go} (October '09). The butterfly was taken from a stamp from Together We Bloom (April '10).

If you'd like to see another example of a sticky note holder, please see my previous post.

That's all for my projects. Have a great Friday, a great weekend, and visit the other great crafters. You can find them all here at the Unity blog. I am off to Wisconsin Dells for the night and tomorrow. It is a family tradition. When we were kids we would spend a week there with my parents. This weekend all of us kids will be there with our kids and my parents, but none of us are able to spend the whole week anymore. Leave a comment please and I will post a winner here and at SCS on Saturday when I get back because........ I have the blinkie :)

Unity Flair!

Take care!
