Growing in Unity, Day Five

Happy Friday! I'm not sure how we got here so fast, but here we are. Thanks to everyone for visiting by blog each day to look at my creations and comment. It has been a good week. Hopefully, I will be able to set aside some time each week to continue crafting and my next blog post won't wait until the next Growing in Unity cycle.

I stayed with CAS when I created these cards. I not only used Unity stamps, but also used Unity paper for two of the cards.

Kits I used are Grow. Evolve. Transform, which is on sale right now, Swagger, and Jar of Mixed Sentiments.

I used Unity paper Glass Garden and Vintage Textiles.

Growing in Unity, Day 4

Good morning! Happy Thursday. It kind of feels like Friday and still I wonder how we got to Thursday already. Funny how time works, isn't it? Thank you for checking out my creations this week! I really appreciate all of the comments. While looking for inspiration, I searched Pinterest and Instagram for simple designs. I like simple, impactful designs and often use those in my cards.

Here is the inspiration video: https://pin.it/2EraSU8

Here are my two Thank you cards:

Instead of usingthe empty space to stamp on directly, I added a piece of the same color cardstock as the base. I distessed the edges a bit and attached it over the empty space to give the card a little depth. On my first card I used the sets Wayward Florals (Whit Kit 3/21),  Jar of Mixed Sentiments, and Layered Mandala. I stamped on the outside and also added some color to the inside to complement the outside.

I used Layered Mandala exclusively on the second card.

Thank you for visiting today. I'm curious...do you like making simple cards or do you tend to create more elaborate ones?  Have a great day!

Growing in Unity, Day 3

Hello, Happy Wednesday.

Here are my Day 3 creations. I used the Whit Kit Just Keep Swimming  One of the cards was make with the smoosh technique for the background. Comment her or on Facebook for your chance to win some Unity stamps. Have a great day!

Growing in Unity, Day Two

Hello again!  Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a great start :)

Today's cards use the same image in two different ways. I looked at the Unity Stamp Blog to learn more about the smoosh ink technique by Crystal O. Minkler. I didn't have the same ink and wanted to do a smoosh teachinique and ended up looking at different ways to accomplish a similar effect with the supplies I had. I watched some other videos and used a page protector from a binder. I cut it so that it opened and then used ink and water color markers on the inside of the page protector, spritzed with water, closed it and rubbed the ink around, opened it back up and put glossy cardstock inside and closed the page again. After rubbing the ink onto the cardstock I opened it up, removed the cardstock and let it dry a bit before I used it to stamp my card base.

The stamp kits I used were Playful Daisy and the Unity sentiment set Basically Said

I also used PlayfulDaisy and glossy cardstock for this card base, but I did not use the smoosh technique.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have you ever used the smoosh technique?

Growing in Unity, Day One

Hello everyone! Happy Monday! I am happy to be back as the Growing in Unity creator this week!

For today's project, I created some bookmarks based on this Instagram video.

I started with a 9.5 inch long x 1 inch wide piece of kraft cardstock and folded it in half, bent the wings and attached the stamped, cut out image and then cut it in half.

The penguin is from the stamp set hello little one

The hearts are from the December 2022 Kit of the Month

The purple heart is from the kit Everything resides in Hope

The bee is from the  Whit kit from April 2020, Grow. Evolve. Transform.

All of the bookmarks were created like this one and have a stamp attached to the front and cut in half. These were fun and fairly easy to make. What stamps do you have in your stash that you could use to make these bookmarks?

     Have a great day!

Growing In Unity Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my space for our Growing in Unity Blog Hop for May and June. For this Hop, I decided to make some cards using one of my new sets Jot it Down Background. I love how versatile the notebook page is! I also used sentiments from ...thanks above & beyond, the November 2020 Whit Kit Everything in Between, and from Hello little one.  I think these turned out really cute for being so simple. Can´t wait to create more with this notebook page and other sentiments.

Please visit Tammy next. If you are just starting, here is the complete lineup.

Growing in Unity Day 5

Happy Friday, everyone! I can't believe we are at day 5 already of my GIU week. It has been great sharing with all of you. Thank you for all of your wonderful comments. Today I have some bookmarks to share with you. I am reading a couple of books right now, and have been using the dust cover to keep my place or an old envelope. As I sat down to craft, I decided to make my self some cute bookmarks to use instead.

The first one uses the itty bitty  Live For  the Moments and Label It!

The second one uses the kit Remember Me

The third one uses a stamp I received in my grab bag. It is from the Let Life Unfold SMAK kit - September 2018. I also cut the Circles A Plenty toner card front to fit the bookmark.

Yesterday I mentioned that I was having fun with Decofoil and toner fronts again. These are foiled toner front negatives that have been put on a blank black toner front.

These are ones that have been passed through the laminator twice with the negative first and then a full sheet of foil. The foil then adheres to the black spaces you have and you end up with two different foils. I can't wait to learn more about the many projects put there with toner fronts and foil. Thanks again for visiting me this week. I hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!
