My mama's photo tray (Unity FWF)

Hello Friday! Hello Spring! and Hello Friends! I will be taking lots of pics of my little one today alone and with her big brother. It is the 23rd of the month and it has become a monthly tradition to take pictures of her as she was born on the 23rd. Today she is 23 months old. WOW! I can not believe how the time has flown.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I am sharing a very special project. I made decorated tray for my mom's birthday. It features all of her 5 grandchildren and matches her kitchen/family room colors. I loved playing with the designs on this to get the perfect combination. This is one of the pieces I of which I am most proud. I love seeing it standing in her family room. The black and white pictures were something I hadn't really used too much of in the past and I love how it turned out. Take a closer look to see the pictures pop. Now I just have to decorate the one I bought for my house. I find it so much easier to decorate things and give them away than decorate and display something in my house. I'm not sure why that is. I think now is the time to change that.
For the project, I used a 7 Gypsies photo tray, various papers including some from Creative Memories and Core'dinations, Unity stamps {of course} including treasure to me, ~ no greater love, ~ fly...free KOM 6/10, ~ {ippity} House a Home, ~ echo park's Life is Good...Moments to Remember
Thanks for visiting! See more great projecte linked at the Unity blog.
Have a GREAT weekend!!!
Unity FWF 3/16/12
So far, so good. I think I am finding just enough time each day or so to blog and share some of my creations. I know that I won't be able to blog every day, but I feel good at this time (usually later at night) when everyone is in bed and i can pulled out a project and finish it up and write a little bit about it. I enjoy sharing my projects with all of you! Please check out my last few posts if you have time. I especially want to know what people think about the butterfly mobile from Sunday's post. Today's project is actually almost a year old. I haven't been blogging in a long while and have never shared this. My baby girl is almost 2 and a year ago we celebrated with this:
I made the invitations to her party. There is definitely a butterfly theme when I make things for her or related to her. At least for now. :) I even made her a onesie decorated with the same one as the invitation and some butterflies in the light purple color. Unfortunately I don't have a good picture of the designs on the onesie.
Amelia was very dainty and shy about eating her cake, until her big brother taught her how to dig in and smash the cake.
She was definitely a tired little girl at the end of the day.
Thanks for checking out my project and thank you for spending a little time with me and Amelia today! Have a GREAT weekend!! Happy St. Patrick's Day! Feliz dia de San Patricio!
See more great Unity projects here.
I used the kit a number of things which can be found at Unity Stamp Company. Angela and Christian are having another great sale. Check it out! I'm warning you though, Unity stamps are so great they're addictive.
This hanging heart is yellow :)
This is the card I have made for the Unity Challenge for March. The challenge: use hearts that are NOT red or pink. I have realized that I am a fan of yellow and that I love lemon flavored things - lemon yogurt, lemon cake, lemon cookies and that I love lemon smelly things. I just bought a raspberry lemonade scented candle. mmmmm does it smell yummy. So, here is my card with a lemon, I mean yellow, hanging heart. On the inside it says Thank You. You too can join the Unity challenge. They are listed monthly on the Unity Blog.
For this card, I used Lucky to have You (KOM 2/12), Hello My Friend, and Samantha Walker's Butterfly Garden. The Thank You is inside, really it is :)
Have a great Wednesday!!
2012 CHA Pinterest Challenge
Finally! I did it! Amelia's butterfly mobile.
I am so excited and I can't wait to put it up in Mimi's room. (She is sleeping right now and I have parent teacher conferences tomorrow night, so I will probably have to wait until Tuesday.) So, I have taken pictures of it to share now, and will share more pictures of it when I can put it her room. Her room is decorated with butterflies, and purple decor. I saw some tutorials online while looking for a project to do with butterflies. I had just received my Fly With Wings of Hope and Jillibean's Coconut Lime Soup kits and wanted to use the butterflies in a project. I love butterflies and with a little girl's room I can use a lot of butterflies. (Until, of course, she decides she doesn't like them.:) Now that the project is done, I have entered it into the Unity Stamp Company's CHA Pinterest Challenge. In the next 24 hours and until March 15th, you can visit Angela's Pinterest site and "like" projects. The project with the most "likes" on March 15th wins.
I started out stamping the butterflies and cutting aroung them trying to make templates. Then I would have had a lot of the same butterflies - I decided to go a different route. I didn't want a lot of the same butterflies and I didn't think I could be accurate enough or patient enough to cut out all of those butterflies by hand. I just received a Cricut for Christmas and a Gypsy for my birthday so I decided this would be a good time to test them out. I loved the butterfly that came with the Gypsy, so I cut out many butterflies in two sizes. Instead of using only butterfly stamps, I used stamps from almost every 2012 CHA release that I own. I have shown you some of the butterflies below before hanging them on the mobile.
I will list them below. I thought outside the box, and used the stamps in very unique ways. The hair and face from one of Phyllis' little girls as well as the grass, the legs and the balloon from Clever Handmade's little kids, the straw, the flowers(only the flowers, not the stem), and the jar parts from the Jillibean kit, the elephant face and hearts separately from the Love you Tons itty bitty, parts of the cake layers and the candlelight from Party Party Party,the hearts from Crappy Day and the patterns and some of the words from the Frames in the House kit are some of them.
I love how it turned out and hope you do too. Most of all, I hope Mimi loves it. She will have a hard time not touching it though. She wanted to play with it when I was hanging the butterflies this weekend.
Stamp kits I used can be found at Unity Stamp Company.
Bella Blvd.: ~ Love You Tons
Unity FWF
Hi again everyone! My mom received a Kindle Fire for Christmas and has yet to use it. I have promised her that I will help her set it up in the next few days. I received one for my birthday and absolutely love it. The first thing I had to do was get a cover for it. I found a great deal at a local store for mine and when I went back to get her one, they only had a boring tan one - so I got it for her and spiffed it up. I took some of my favorite Unity stamp sayings that I thought she'd enjoy, images of some of her favorite things and this is what happened.
The back:
My favorite part is "The End" :)
Go to the Unity blog to see more great projects! Unity has some great new stamps, too. I love Unity!
It has been a long time!
I knew it had been a long time since my last post, but I had no idea how long. It is crazy how busy life gets sometimes. October 29, 2010-My baby girl was 6 months old. She is now almost 2. I was preparing for the selection of my 20 new travelers to Costa Rica. These students and I have now traveled to Costa Rica and been back to the U.S. for almost 7 months. My son was starting his first grade year. He is now 2/3 finished with his 2nd grade year. I'm glad to be back. I have so much to show you that I have done over the past year+. I am excited to continue crafting and to show you what I accomplish. I love mixing new techiniques with old ones. I love getting ideas from people and tweaking them to fit my style and my personality. I love to craft.
