ABC Design Team

ABC Challenges is looking for new Design Team members as two of their current members must step down due to family obligations.
This is my entry for the ABC Design Team.

The directions were to 1. post about the openings on your site and 2. Choose your 3 favourite cards and add them to the post. Please show in these cards what you determine your style to be.

Wow, this was hard to do. I guess I consider my design style to be fairly simple, but I like to use a lot of different things when I create cards from buttons to brads to ripping to chalk to images and patterned paper. I love making cards and have a lot of fun doing challenges. Good luck to all who enter the design team search and good luck to those of you choosing. I am sure you will be swamped with entries.

Two more cards tonight

I made 4 cards this afternoon and tonight. Two have their own posts below and these two are uploaded to galleries. The first one was made for Hero Arts and the task was to creat a photo card. I found this polar bear and had to use him. He looks like he is thinking of someone :)

The second card was made for the Unity Stamp challenge to create a card with something shiny or glittery, 2 buttons and 1 patterned paper.

Kaboodles Doodles #14

Here is my card for Kaboodles Doodles. There was a recipe this week and it included
1 solid cardstock
2 patterned papers
3 embelishments
use a digital image

I decided to do another Halloween card as I have some cute digital images from Louby Loo.

The Pink Elephant Challenge #33

I made this card for The Pink Elephant Challenge using this sketch:
The digital image is from Louby Loo. I used my Cuttlebug paisley embossing folder with some ink to creat the background panels.

Sketchfest Saturday!

Wow! 7 days and I did all 7 cards for the Sketchfest at Caardvarks. Some in the wee morning hours, some in the evening, some in the late morning. It was fun! I decided to do a Halloween card today, as I don't have many of these. I love the colors in this Karen Foster paper - prple, black, orange, yellow. I love purple and black together! I wonder how many people got all 7 cards done. I've seen some great stuff! Good luck to all who want the grand prize! Sketch again was designed by Heidi Van Laar.

Sketchfest Friday

Here is my entry for today's sketch at Caardvarks. Again the sketch is by the talented Heidi!

I actually only used 1 stamp (cut into 4), one ribbon, 2 pieces of cardstock, stickles, markers, and ink on this card. I love the block stamps that can be divided or left together as one. Can't wait to see tomorrow's sketch!

365 Cards #207 DIY Patterned Paper

Here is my entry for the do it yourself patterned paper. As I said in my last post, I am really liking this color. I may need to go back to Archiver's to get some more of this color, as I only have 1/2 sheet left. I wasn't sure I would like using this paper as it isn't Bazzill, but it is growing on me. I just love this ladybug stamp by Great Impressions. It was one I had my local scrapbook store special order as I didn't buy one when they had many in the store. I am glad I finally have it!!

Sketchfest Thursday

Ok, so tonight I actually made my card before falling asleep. but, I am tired :) This was a fun card to do! I think i am really focusing on two main colors right now, brown and yellowish green (as you will see in my next post). I used my new sassafrass wee pack again for this card. I don't think I've used sassafrass before last night. CUTE!!!! I made this card for Caardvark's Sketchfest Thursday. The sketch was again designed by Heidi Van Laar.

This card also works for "Stitch it Up" at the Simon Says Challenge

I won Pam's Candy!

I got home today after teaching and had a wonderful package waiting for me. Thanks Pam, for the wonderful 1 Year Blogoversary candy! Pam hosts the 365 Cards challenge blog, makes her own great cards and sketches, and sells kits at Mac Mae Card Kits. I really should also thank her for getting me into card/scrapbooking challenges in the first place since 365 cards is where I started. Since then, I have been all over blogworld participating in different challenges. I even have a binder to keep all of the challenges straight.
I already used some of this prize in my entry (see post below) for Caardvarks Sketchfest. ~Til tomorow~ I'm off to bed, again, have a great night!

Oh my! Sketchfest Wednesday

So, I fell asleep after supper and just woke up 11:45 p.m. my time. I ws thinking Oh my gosh!! I didn't get my card done yet - oh no! I hurried down to my craft space, reread the entry directions for Sketchfest Week at Caardvarks and took a deep breath. Yousee, I thought the card was due at midnight my time. Nto only is it not midnight my time, it isn't midnight PST (2 a.m. my time). I have until 9 a.m. my time. Ok - I'm fine, have plenty of time :) Anyway, after much excitement (only I was excited unecessarily), here is my card based on Heidi Van Laar's sketch for today(Wednesday) at Sketchfest.

For my card, I used some paper I just received today from Pam at 365 cards. I won her Blogoversary candy and will post about that next! Thanks, Pam! It is from the sassafrass wee bundle "sunshine lollipops". Cute papers!!! I also had some stickers in my prize that matched. The background paper is from my Little Sizzles pad that I am finally starting to use! The "thank you" is from a from Fiskars acrylic stamp set that I bought at our annual public television auction. I am addicted to it when it is on. I sit in front of the TV and watch all of the things they are auctioning off and every once in awhile I bid on something. I will have o remember to scrap/make cards while watching next year. Although, that may not be possible as I will have a new baby in the house.

Caardvarks Sketchfest Tuesday and MMSC19

Here is today's card for Caardvark's Sketchfest. 3 days - 3 cards, so far so good! I used some of my Sizzix Little Sizzles paper that I have had forever! It is based on the sketch below.

CARD 2:

The second card I made tonight is for Midnight Madness Week #19. I love snowflakes and have had these stamps forever, too and had yet to use them. I also love snowmen. I don't like cold snowy weather though! Although I still think I am lucky to be able to experience all 4 seasons in their glory! It's been a weird year here weatherwise though! The card was based on this sketch:

The Cuttlebug Spot and 365 Cards

Finally, I have gotten back to where I started all this blog hopping and creating up a storm - 365 Cards. This card was made using inks in the color scheme for Day 205. I love all the fall colors. They remind me of cool crisp days, apple orchards, pumpkin carving, and leaves changing colors. I am so lucky (remind me of this in January) to live in a place where I can experience all of the seasons in their differences.

This card was also made for The Cuttlebug Spot. I used my inks in an embossing folder and got this great effect. Although I don't like cleaning my embossing folder afterwards (and I guess I don't really like cleaning my stamps either, although don't worry I do clean my stamps)it gives a GREAT effect. i will be doing this more often. Thanks The Cuttlebug Spot for reminding me of this cool way to use my folders! The Cuttlebug Spot is also celebrating their 1 Year Anniversary and are having all kinds of giveaways, be sure to stop by!

Look what I got!!! Want something from me?

I just got this in the mail from my fellow Wisconsinite! Thanks, Dawn for the great Pay it Forward gift! I love it! So creative! Now it's my turn to send 5 of my readers a handmade gift. In turn each promises to Pay it Forward by sending a handmade craft to 5 others, and they agree to send a craft to 5 people and so on..... So be among the first 5 people to leave a comment and get a craft! You have a year to get the crafts made and out. It’s like a big chain letter of crafty goodness! So are you interested? If so be one of the first 5 to sign up on this post and you will get a little goody in the mail handmade by me. I can't wait to get started!

Caardvarks Sketchfest Monday

I had a lot of fun making this card with some of my new stamps. Some mornings are two cuppers, aren't they? Unfortunately, my coffee has to be decaf right now. Not much help there - but I still get the taste (kind of) and the warmth! This card was made for Caardvarks Sketchfest monday. 7 days - 7 sketches. What fun!!!! The sketch that follows was again made by Heidi Van Laar.

Sketchfest Sunday at Caardvarks

Good evening all! And good night - I'm headed to bed after this post. This card was made for Day One of Sketchfest at Caardvarks. Hopefully I will get all of the cards done this week. How exciting that would be. Each day this week, there will be a new sketch and participants will have until 7 a.m the next morning to get the sketch completed. Those who get all seven finished have a chance at being a new designer for Caardvarks. There are other GREAT prizes too! The first sketch is below and is by Heidi Heidi Van Laar of Van Laar Designs
