Growing in Unity Day 5

Happy Friday, everyone! I can't believe we are at day 5 already of my GIU week. It has been great sharing with all of you. Thank you for all of your wonderful comments. Today I have some bookmarks to share with you. I am reading a couple of books right now, and have been using the dust cover to keep my place or an old envelope. As I sat down to craft, I decided to make my self some cute bookmarks to use instead.

The first one uses the itty bitty  Live For  the Moments and Label It!

The second one uses the kit Remember Me

The third one uses a stamp I received in my grab bag. It is from the Let Life Unfold SMAK kit - September 2018. I also cut the Circles A Plenty toner card front to fit the bookmark.

Yesterday I mentioned that I was having fun with Decofoil and toner fronts again. These are foiled toner front negatives that have been put on a blank black toner front.

These are ones that have been passed through the laminator twice with the negative first and then a full sheet of foil. The foil then adheres to the black spaces you have and you end up with two different foils. I can't wait to learn more about the many projects put there with toner fronts and foil. Thanks again for visiting me this week. I hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!

Growing in Unity Day 4

Happy Thursday, everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful day. Today's cards are a necessity that I should make and have more of on hand. Unfortunately, we all need sympathy cards from time to time. I am a high school teacher and one of our senior students passed away in a car accident early yesterday morning. I have made some cards with toner fronts (I know, I know....I love them.) and various foil colors. I used the stamp set: ...abundant blessings (Unity sentiment kit September 2017) for the With Sympathy sentiment and the set:  ...basically said (Unity sentiment kit June 2014) for the Thinking of You sentiment. I know several people in this student's family, so will be sending these cards out this week.

I learned some new toner/foil techniques today after watching Gaylynn's video and reading her post on the Unity Blog. Don't throw away the foil after you use them on the toner front, you can use them again on black toner paper to get a negative and then foil again on the black areas left on the negative. There are so many possiblities and I am having a lot of fun experimenting. I will share the creations tomorrow. Comment below for a chance to win a Unity gift certificate. Have a great day, everyone, and give your loved ones an extra hug.

Growing in Unity Day 3

Hi everyone! It is hard to believe we are already at day 3 of my GIU week. The weeks sure do go fast sometimes, don't they? I hope you are having a great one! Today I am sharing a card based on this sketch from fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com

I used the November 2020 Whit Kit stamp set Everything in Between for the vase and the Hello. The flowers were cut from the toner card front Wild Garden and was an extra piece from yesterday's card.

Don't forget to comment to win a Unity Stamp gift certificate. I hope you are having a wonderful day! Check back tomorrow to see more of my creations.

Growing in Unity Day 2

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! Today's cards were created with a monochromatic design. I incorporated one of my favorite techniques, paper ripping and inking the distressed edges. I also used one of my new favorites - Decofoil and toner fronts. Have you tried this? So....Much.....Fun. And so easy, too. As a teacher and a mother, I don't have a lot of time right now for difficult projects. These came together pretty easily and I also got my daughter involved and she created a card, too. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to comment for your chance to win this week.

For the first card I used toner front Circles a Plenty, new stamp release: Spring Coffee, and Sunshine and Rainbows Sentiment Kit -  April 2021.

(I used one of the dotted rainbows to make my dots on the coffee cup  :) )

The second card I made used the toner front: Wild Garden and the sentiment kit from April 2015 called Thanks Above & Beyond . I didn't evern realize until this moment that both sentiment kits I used were from the month of April.

My daughter's card used the same toner front and the stamp set  Everything Resides in Hope on the front. I love that she saw me working and wanted to create one of her own for her best friend.

She used Swagger for the message on the inside and the flower from the September 2017 Sentiment kit ...abundant blessings.

Growing in Unity Day 1

Hi everyone! Welcome to Growing in Unity with me - Michelle. It has been a few years since I have been chosen to participate and I am so excited to share my creations with you this week. I have loved using  Unity stamps since 2009 and they continue to create such fantastic new products.

My first projects are based on a card that I made a few years ago. Have you ever cased your own projects?

This is the one I cased:

It might be my favorite card, ever. It makes me really happy to look at :) I love the colors and the message.

Here are the ones I created this time:
